Husband-Wife Relationship in Ramadan Q&A (Part 1)
by noibilism |  at 8:31 AM
Kissing One's Spouse while Fasting
Question:
Dear scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Can a husband and wife kiss during the fast?
Jazakum Allah khayran
Answers by Sheikh Sayyed Sabiq and Sheikh Ahmad Kutty Wa`alaykum as-salamu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and
blessings be upon His Messenger.
Kissing one's wife while fasting is permissible. However, it is
better to avoid kissing during the daytime of Ramadan, as it
may lead to further actions which nullify the fast, such as
sexual intercourse.
In his well-known book, Fiqh As-Sunnah, Sheikh Sayyed Sabiq
states:
It is confirmed that `A’ishah said: The Prophet would
kiss and embrace while he was fasting, for he had the
most control of all of you over his desires.
`Umar said: I was excited one time and I kissed [my
wife] while I was fasting. I went to the Prophet and
said: 'Today I committed a horrendous act—I kissed
while I was fasting.' The Prophet asked: 'What do you
think of rinsing your mouth with water while fasting?' I
said: 'There is nothing wrong with that.' The Prophet
said: 'Then, why do you question about it!'
Ibn al-Mundhir says: "`Umar, Ibn `Abbas, Abu Hurairah,
`A’ishah, `Ata, al-Sha`bi, al-Hassan, Ahmad, and
Ishaq permit kissing. The Hanafi and Shafi`i scholars
say that it is disliked if it incites one's desires. If it does
not do so, it is not disliked although it is better to avoid
it.’

The phenomenon of lying which has regretfully become a “fabric of social life.”
by noibilism |  at 8:45 AM
Lying is a common part of human relationships. People lie for a variety of reasons. They may lie as part of self-presentation, in order to present a more favorable image to others. People may also lie in order to minimize conflict, because lying may make disagreements less obvious. Although lying may serve useful functions in these respects, it can also be damaging to relationships. An exposed lie undermines trust and sows suspicion, because a person who has been lied to is likely to mistrust the person who lied in the future.[1] Some people even lie due to habit at first impulse. ‘Everyday lies are really part of the fabric of social life,’ says Bella DePaulo, a psychologist and lying expert at the University of Virginia. Her research shows both men and women lie in approximately a fifth of their social exchanges lasting 10 or more minutes; over the course of a week they deceive about 30 percent of those with whom they interact one-on-one. Furthermore, some types of relationships, such as those between parents and teens, are virtual magnets for deception. Lying is considered integral to many occupations: we see lawyers constructing far-fetched theories on behalf of their clients or reporters misrepresenting themselves in order to gain access to good stories.

Letter to all Christians from Prophet Muhammad
by noibilism |  at 11:37 AM
November 28, 2009
How should Muslims treat Christians? With violence? Anger? Hatred? The answer is none of the above. Below is the English rendering of a letter written by the ProphetMuhammad (sa) to all Christians.
In a time when tensions between Islam and Christianityseem to be at an all time high, we remind our Christian friends that a true Muslim cannot hurt a Christian in any way, neither by his hand, nor by his tongue.

Marriage: It Isn’t about Rainbows and Butterflies
by noibilism |  at 3:03 PM
Most of us girls have dreamt of the big day; we have all imagined ourselves as brides, dressed in a fluffy white dress, surrounded by flowers, and having our cheeks burning red from the hundreds of eyes following our steps.
YES! It’s the wedding day. Watching Disney movies when we were younger, most of us happily sobbed at how the prince and princess overcame all the hardships and evils, to be with one another on the lifelong journey of marriage.

Ethics of Sleeping In Islaam
by noibilism |  at 2:05 AM
1.
Sleeping, when done with the right Niyah (intentions) can be considered
as a good deed in the eyes of Allah. The purpose of sleeping (at night)
is for our bodies and minds to take a temporary “time-out” and as a
refresher to work during the day! So use your nights wisely to sleep,
and get rewarded doing it insha Allah ;)
